Become a Faciliator

Have you healed from infidelity?

Would you have benefited from someone who had walked the road before you, coming alongside to help you on your journey? Be that someone for someone else. Our facilitators can serve couples without becoming publicly known. Many of our facilitators in central California serve anonymously. Consider it, won’t you?

WHAT IS A FACILITATOR?

To facilitate simply means to assist, to make easier, and this is exactly what the role of a Hope & Healing facilitating couple is intended to do. Facilitators are not professionals. Facilitators are lay leaders. They serve in obedience to Scripture:

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. II Corinthians 1:3-5 (NIV)

WHAT DOES A FACILITATING COUPLE DO?

A facilitating couple comes alongside a couple or couples to support & encourage them, to offer hope when it’s hard, and to offer practical strategies that can help the couple navigate through this healing process. This can be done by just meeting together to talk or it can be accomplished by taking the couple(s) through the 10-week Hope & Healing support group materials available.

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BE A FACILITATING COUPLE?

  1. Each couple's relationship reflects a healthy, personal relationship with God.
  2. Each couple is available to minister to the couples who may contact them.
  3. Each couple has a mentor/counselor/pastor to call upon when unsure.
  4. Each couple is at least 2 years into recovery themselves and has had a series of sessions with a professional / pastoral counselor.

IS THERE A FINANCIAL COST?

Hope & Healing will ask you to participate in a Couple Checkup created by Prepare Enrich. The cost of this testing is $29.95 and is done online. The time required is less than one hour. We do ask that the results be shared with us. The Resource Kit which provides all you need to facilitate a support group is available for $100 plus shipping. However, we do not want anyone to be unable to serve because of financial status so there are scholarships available. Just give us a call.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

If after careful and prayerful consideration, you both believe God is calling you to be a facilitating couple, just contact us at info@hopeandhealing.us or give us a phone call at 209-667-5012.

A packet will be mailed to you with all the information you will need.  Once completed, you mail back to us the copies we requested and we’ll begin processing your application.  You will then be sent information about the Couple Checkup procedure. Once all is completed and you have been authorized as a Hope & Healing Facilitator, the contact information you have given us permission to release will be made available only to couples, pastors or counselors looking for support couples in your area. That’s it. We have tried to make this procedure simple yet legal and safe for all involved. And feel free to give us a call if you have any questions.

WHY WOULD ANYONE CONSIDER DOING THIS?

When you’ve been through adultery recovery, you know the depth of the pain and the loneliness often experienced in the recovery process. Hope & Healing knows the benefit of peer support through this crisis. We have seen God use ordinary people like ourselves in miraculous ways. It is not a “fun” ministry but we will say with great enthusiasm, it is the best and most rewarding ministry we’ve ever been involved with. There is nothing quite like being an eye witness to God’s miraculous healing power and watching people tangibly change as He works in their relationship.
